The 1990s are back with the release of the Street Fighter II slot machine. Its everything you remember from the video game, nothing more and nothing less. This blast from the past is one that any player can appreciate.
Graphics & Symbols
When players first launch the game they choose their fighter and the area of the map they want to go to battle in. This brings them to the game screen, with their fighter on one side of the reels and their opponent on the other.
The eight characters from the video game serve as the symbols in the slot. Each character is portrayed as if they have defeated their opponent and as if they have been the defeated one. At times, they may become colossal symbols.
Just like in the video game, both characters in any fight have health points, which are monitored by meters placed on either side of the reels. Everyone starts with 75 health points. This number goes down if the opponent’s symbol lands on the reels.
There is also a meter that holds wilds for each character. Its seven spaces must be filled in order for players to cash in. So every time a character’s wild symbol lands on the reels, it fills one slot on the meter.
Bonus Features
The character a player has assumed will unlock the Car Smash bonus if their health points are depleted. If a player’s opponent is the one to lose all of their health points it unlocks the Beat the Boss feature. The Car Smash awards players with a cash prize based on the amount of the bet that triggered the bonus.
Beat the Boss is the free spins feature of Street Fighter II. Players want to successfully work their way up all four levels of the feature. They start with a mater with 25 slots, as well as a multiplier that doubles their winnings.
The lowest level of the bonus pits players against Balrog. Free spins continue for as long as both characters have health points. Defeating Balrog moves players up to level two. They then get a multiplier that triples their winnings and they face Vega. If they can defeat him they move to level three of the bonus. Players battle against Sagat and receive a multiplier that awards them five times the amount of their original bet. If they can defeat Sagat they move to the final level of the bonus. This comes with a multiplier that gives them 10 times the amount of cash. It also puts them face to face with the ultimate boss, M. Bison. Players who defeat him walk away with a significant cash prize, though beating M. Bison is a rare occurrence.
