Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Slot Game Review
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is one of the most popular TV quiz shows of all time. Whether you loved watching Chris Tarrant quiz eager contestants, or were irritated by the presenter and the format, you should love playing the online slot machine based on the show, which has been created by the people over at Big Time Gaming. Just like the TV show, it offers big prizes (although not a million pounds) and you’ll find that it also has some really innovative features, which keep the fun coming throughout your time playing. So, why not find out more about the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? slot by taking a look through our detailed review below?
The first thing you’ll notice about the game is the layout, which isn’t that of a typical online slot machine. There are six reels in total, and each reel can contain varying numbers of symbols. The reels spin as normal, aside from the bottom symbols underneath the second, third, fourth and fifth reels, which spin in from the side. The unique layout of this slot machine means that there can be a massive 117,649 ways to win on every spin. This means that you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to win prizes on every spin of the reels. You’ll see the number of ways to win for your current spin shown above the reels. It should be noted that, while they spin in from a different direction, the bottom symbols simply form a part of the reels – they don’t do anything special.
When it comes to the amount you can bet, the maximum possible wager at this game is £100 – a decent amount, but not one that will cause high rollers to sit up and take notice. The minimum bet you can make per spin is just 20p, so lower stakes players should be happy. Changing the amount you bet is pretty simple: just click the left and right arrows underneath “Stake” to increase and decrease your bet. Remember that the more money you bet, the more money you could win. Of course, you shouldn’t bet more than you can afford to lose though.
But what about the prizes? Well, the highest paying symbol on the reels is the purple jewel and this will give you a prize worth 50x your bet if you can get six of them across the reels. The other jewels also have some big wins attached to them. The free spins are where the big prizes can really be won though, thanks to the multipliers. You can find out about the free spins in the next part of this Who Wants to Be a Millionaire review…
Bonus Features
The first bonus feature to mention is a simple one – the wild symbol. You’ll easily be able to spot this on the reels and it does what most wild symbols do, as it can substitute for most other symbols on the reels. There is no multiplier attached to the wild symbol unfortunately, however you should still find that it comes in use rather a lot.
Next up is the Reactions feature – something that you might have seen at other slots, albeit using a different name. It works like this: whenever you manage to get a winning combination, you’ll receive your prize. The winning symbols will then disappear and be replaced by new symbols, therefore giving you the chance to win again. This process continues for as long as you can manage to get new winning combinations on the reels.
Finally, you’ve got the free spins feature. This starts when you get three or more scatter symbols (the game’s logo) anywhere on the reels. When this happens, you’ll be awarded free spins. They don’t start straightaway though, as instead you can play a game to potentially increase the number of free spins you receive. Simply guess from A, B, C and D to move up the ladder and get more free spins. Guess wrong though and you’ll drop down the ladder. You’ll have help from 50/50, Phone a Friend and Ask the Audience, all of which make it easier to advance up the ladder.
Once you’ve finished with the initial game, you’ll move onto the actual free spins. While you’re playing, you can win more free spins by getting three or more scatter symbols on the bottom row of symbols. You could find that you end up with a bonus multiplier when you play the free spins. It will start as a 1x multiplier, but this will increase by one every time a Reaction happens. There’s no limit to the size of the multiplier, so it could become absolutely massive. The free spins lead to the biggest prizes, plus they’re also the most exciting part of the game.
